Dana Perino: Obama's Executive Amnesty Lawful (Bush sycophant!)
breitbart.com ^ | 11/21/14 | Tony Lee

Dana Perino, the Fox News co-cost and former spokeswoman for George W. Bush's White House, said that President Barack Obama's executive amnesty is well within the law.

She admitted on Thursday's The Five that though she "might be an outlier on this," she believed "Republicans are really boxed in" on Obama's amnesty.

"I don’t think that we’ll have the answer to the constitutional question for years," she said. "And at this point, I think the President has the prosecutorial discretion to do what he’s doing.”

Hours before Obama formally announced his executive amnesty, Perino said Republicans "cannot stop the President from doing this."

So, President Obama has the disgression, without any impetus from congress, to order that duly enacted laws not be inforced. So says Bush toad Dana Perino.

How the *&^ can anyone sit there with a straight face and make this claim?

I am still scratching my head about “prosecutorial discretion”.

President generally stay out of court cases, ie, for prosecutors to do their job, politicians should stay out.

I always thought prosecutors were independent of the political process. Is this codified?

Prosecutors discretion should be the prosecutor’s on a case by case basis, not a political policy.

Governors have executive authority as well.
There are soon to be thirty-five Republican governors.
Republican governors should exercise Prosecutorial Discretion and simply ignore Obama’s executive order.

Lawsuits have no impact against the lawless.

Then they should simply move forward with the correct proposals and fund them - such as the border fence.

This is why, regardless of the damage done, it was good Romney didn’t win.

RINOs and D’s want the same thing. It’s no mistake that W considers Clinton a brother from another mother.

That makes sense to me.

Dana Perino is not a legal scholar. Andrew McCarthy, on the other hand, is not only a prominent legal scholar but also a former prosecutor. Here is his learned opinion:

‘’He [Obama} is claiming not only the power to determine what immigration laws get enforced and which illegal immigrants get prosecuted — power he unquestionably has. He also claims the power to declare (a) that criminal acts are somehow lawful — that illegal aliens now have a right to be here — just because Obama has chosen not to prosecute them; and (b) that those who engage in this unprosecuted activity will be rewarded with benefits (lawful presence, relief from deportation, work permits, etc.), as if their illegal acts were valuable community service.

‘’That is an utter perversion of prosecutorial discretion and a blatant usurpation of congressional power. Only Congress has the power to repeal criminal laws and confer positive legal benefits on non-Americans.’’

Dana Perino’s non-expert opinion on prosecutorial discretion has as much value to her listeners as her non-expert opinion on brain-surgery procedures. None. If she wants to pontificate on the latest issues without knowing what she’s talking about, she’d be better off appearing on ‘’The View’’ where no one takes the panelists’ opinions seriously rather than holding forth on a serious news network.

They are all uninformed dopes when it comes to immigration. Bolling wants to increase legal immigration to 4 million a year. He thinks this is the solution to illegal immigration.

Ignore the fact that we have the lowest labor participation rates since 1977 or that US wages have been declining. If we had a shortage of labor, wages would be going up, not down.

We have just had the two largest decades of legal immigration in American history with 27 million legal permanent immigrants entering this country during the period 1990 to 2010. American workers are being destroyed by this huge influx of foreign labor.

The Five just reflect Murdoch's support of amnesty and open borders.

Laura sort of agrees with Dana. You can be sure the order he signs will be worded to skirt any conflict. Remember what he says and what he signs may not be the same. But Laura thinks he has the authority for the Executive Order plus it will take years to wind its way through the courts. This is why the Republicans have to be on offense and do everything they can to stop his agenda.

Perhaps she can explain how he’s within his rights to do this while simultaneously being under his oath of office to faithfully execute law?

As I mentioned in an earlier post, what Obama says and what is actually signed could be two very different things. I mean it may be possible Obama is misleading the illegals on what he is doing. He did the DACA executive order and I don’t think a lawsuit was filed. Once everyone sees what’s in the signed document the legal scholars can opine the legality.

There is danger in ignoring lawless behavior just because we like the outcome.

Bush did EOs too.
