Pro-Clinton groups prepare for an all-but-certain run
CNN ^ | Friday, November 21, 2014 | Dan Merica

The former secretary of state's most ardent supporters and organizers will meet Friday in New York City to discuss what now looks like an all-but-certain Hillary Clinton campaign for president.

Ready for Hillary, a pro-Clinton super PAC that has been organizing around a Clinton run for almost two years, is hosting an all-day strategy session that will bring together the different groups that have been working around a Clinton run since shortly after she left the State Department in early 2013.

The Ready for Hillary National Finance Council meeting -- which is being held at the Sheraton Times Square in New York City -- is part rally, part history lesson for the Clinton supporters and will bring together top flight Democratic strategists, longtime Clinton supporters and at least three people rumored to be the former secretary of state's next campaign manager.

Guy Cecil, the executive director of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee; Stephanie Schriock, the president of EMILY's List; and Ace Smith, a political operative who worked for Clinton in 2008, have all been rumored as likely picks for Clinton's top campaign job. All three will sit on panels and discuss Clinton's future Friday.

I would like her to run and win the nomination. Hell, I would even vote for her in the democratic primary.

But then she and the whole world will be reminded of Benghazi.

I could not go as far as to vote for a Democrat, any Democrat. I may say that I will beforehand , but when it comes down to doing it, I can’t.

Obama might have just screwed Hillary out of the presidency again.
If she doesn't come out against Obama's immigration decree she might as well save her time and money.

I agree with you 100%. If the next two years are like this no Democrat can win the presidency. I still think the Obama wing of the Democratic Party are going to go all in with Elizabeth Warren. The icing on the cake for the president would be denying Hillary the presidency again. Look for Lizzie Warren to get a lot of face time next year on TV and elsewhere. Also, look for the Hope and Change team, behind the scenes, start tarnishing Hillary’s image.

Hillary 2008 would have been a terrible president - dramatically better than Obama but still terrible (about the difference between losing a lung to cancer and simultaneously contracting Ebola and AIDS; the cancer is dramatically better).

Hillary 2016 is too late. She's too old, and low-information voters are burned out on liberals. If she does win though, America will never recover from the terrible eight years under Obama. Hillary would rule with an iron fist. She wants a powerful country completely under her control (the opposite of Obama who wants a weak America, not worth controlling), but we've been weakened too much by Obama for that wish to be satisfied.

Let he run. Ever her more popular husband could only get 43% of the vote 1992.

Run? She can barely waddle!

But seriously...whatever we may think of Obama and Romney (and that isn’t much) they, along with legions of politicians, regularly did the rolled-up shirtsleeves routine. Patronizing and obvious but the barking seals eat it up.

Hillary, for better or worse, is synonymous with her pantsuits the way the North Korean dictators always appear in those boxy carpet-padding things. Beyond the colors they have a specific purpose: to conceal her exaggerated pear shape (and that’s being kind). She doesn’t dare wear anything else, especially a blouse without a jacket lest the extent of her corpulence be revealed.

But standing on an orange crate behind a lectern for the whole of the campaign isn’t an option either and the handlers know it. One appearance begins to look like another until it’s all noise and the votes start to drain away due to the sheer brute repetition of it (well, that and her screeching). Given her paranoid Howard Hughes-like rules for stage interactions, perhaps we will also see the end of the Human Backdrop, a political cliche hoarier than red white and blue bunting.

I’m still doubtful that she will run. Apparently a lot of the big Dem donors want Elizabeth Warren.

Even if the 'rats push Warren, I cannot see Hillary not running. She is too power-hungry not to. She feels she was robbed in 2008, and thinks she is entitled to it. Power-mad narcissists do not see real reality. They see their own reality.

Not if something much worse than Benghazi were to happen HERE first.

I know Hitlery wants it but she is old and I believe not in good health. The young people are not wild about her anymore and she now has a track record of pizz poor performance. If she runs I just don’t see her beating any of our decent GOP candidates.

I see no rational reason...that anyone could expect hillary to be capable of getting past even her recent baggage.,,let alone the vast treasure trove of issues she’s been hauling around for that past few decades.

She will not be able to get past all of her baggage. That is why I would like to see her as the demoncrap candidate.
