Focus on Obama amnesty should be on the work permits, not the deportations

Pres. Obama's and the mainstream media's focus on "relief from deportation" is a distraction from the real issue which is the work permits that the President's executive immigration action would provide in the millions.

It is the giving out of work permits that most strongly challenges the Constitution. And it is the work permits that deliver the most harm to U.S. citizens and legal immigrants already here.

It is one thing to claim prosecutorial discretion in deciding not to deport somebody for breaking the law. It is quite another to actively reward that law-breaking foreign citizen with cards giving legal status and work authorization.

The outrageous act of giving out millions of work permits in a time of sustained wage depression is not a logical step in reaction to the supposed rationale for taking unilateral action.

The emotional rationale? The President claims he is acting in response to the rhetoric that the government should stop deporting any illegal alien who has a family member who is a U.S. citizen because that "tears families apart." Even if we disagree with that premise for executive nullification of a law, the answer to that argument is simply to stop deporting that class of lawbreakers -- not to give them cards to directly compete with the tens of millions of American workers whose value is already undermined in a society awash in a labor surplus.

There aren’t any jobs. I guess we taxpayers will be paying these scumbags to learn to write poetry, paint pictures of bowls of fruit and play the guitar the way we’re already paying millions of unemployed Americans.

I agree. Congress should withhold all funds for work permits and for any individuals, agencies, or departments that issue those permits. If the petty tyrant in our White House is not going to follow the law for work permits, then there should be no work permits at all. That's not a bad thing with so many real Americans out of work due to the Obama economy.

“No work and they will self-deport.”

No, they’ll just line up for freebies. And no one should delude themselves into thinking there isn’t a mechanism in place for them to access every benefit they want.

OK, time for a little Cloward-Piven. You are right about work permits. It is still illegal to employ an illegal, even if Obama decrees otherwise. It is time for American workers who are displaced by illegals to file suit against the employers of all of these companies. Conduct discovery and bring into the open how many company employ thousands of illegals. Every farm, factory, hotel and janitor service should be sued. Make them miserable.

Mr. Beck fails to mention that the new holders of work permits will fall under our antidiscrimination laws. I know I am repeating myself, I think this is the third time, but no one seems to be picking this up in the press. There are organizations devoted to defending the “rights” of illegals. No one but me sees the nightmare headache that this will cause?

Great.
First, close the damn border before the whole nation of Mexico migrates over here with their anchor babies.

Second, round up all the existing “parents in residence” and require them to show proof of childbirth within the US borders or be deported.

Thirdly, repeal the anchor baby law (the whole gang gets deported).

Unless these same millions just became citizens (who can vote), then I fail to see how this avoids becoming a problem between organized Labor and the Dems.

Sure, they can become union members, but the “native” union members aren’t likely to appreciate competing for work with non-natives.

Blacks are going to be the main collateral victims of Obama's anti-Black amnesty.

OBAMA’S UNCONSTITUTIONAL AMNESTY TO MIGRANTS THAT ARE LIVING ILLEGALLY IN THE U.S.A.

After destroying the best health care system in the world, Obama is determined to grant wide amnesty to foreigners living illegally in U.S. If Obama wants to make the U.S. into another banana republic, it seems he is well underway to reaching his goal.

The Republicans must make it perfectly clear that Obama has declared a merciless war against the American workers and the middle class of America. There are 92 million of able Americans out of the work force because they cannot find employment and Obama wants to legalize and give work permits to over 11 million illegal aliens allowing them to bring here the rest of their families. In other words, another 25 or 30 million that either will compete with Americans and legal immigrants searching for scarce jobs or are going to be added to welfare, bankrupting Medicaid and the food stamp system as well as ruining even more the quality of the public schools with the massive infuse of hundreds of thousands of children without speaking English to already overburdened schools systems.

Blacks are going to be the main collateral victims of Obama's anti-Black amnesty. Black Americans are already suffering higher unemployment since Obama took power. Obama’s new class of protected immigrants will take over their jobs and Blacks will be forced to share their welfare checks and food stamps with them

Obama sold American sovereignty and jobs to illegal aliens for votes

There aren’t any jobs....because the majority of any new job WENT to the (illegal) immigrants.

Couple that w/ the reduction of hours ala ACA and you have a return of the Bush era ‘McJobs’...though nobody in the MSM will call it so.

No welfare and they will self deport. If they are getting hand outs..why work?

Jail those that hire them. Make E-verify mandatory.

Problem solved.

The Courts will soon issue injunctions on this illegal Dictator. He will then Dare the Courts to do anything. This is the greatest constitutional crises IN OUR HISTORY— But I don’t see the republocrats fighting “tooth and nail” as promises by boner? Did we get suckered by these slackers? They are all on vacation. I get off next Wednesday and these quivering ganglia are already hiding.

I think that—given we weren’t about to deport millions of people in the first place—this action isn’t anything that couldn’t or wouldn’t have potentially passed as legislation anyway.

Obviously I haven’t seen the details, yet. However, unless Obama has usurped the process of Citizenship, I don’t see how this will result in anything other than a rift in the Democratic Party.

The reason is those formerly working “in the shadows” will now be free to compete against un- or low-skilled native workers out in the open.

The “paying taxes” is a throwaway line. These people aren’t going to pay taxes (much) anyway, but they WILL drive down labor costs as the pool of eligible labor just expanded.
