The National Rifle Association is warning that the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty set to take effect on Dec. 24 could lead to increased gun control if President Obama implements it via executive order.
"We are worried about an end-run around Congress," NRA spokeswoman Catherine Mortensen told The Blaze. "Barack Obama or a future anti-gun president could use [the treaty] and international norms compliance to rationalize enacting gun control politics through executive actions, especially in the import and export realms."
Under the terms of the U.N. treaty, participating nations must set up export and import controls for combat vehicles, aircraft, and small arms. The treaty also requires those nations to "establish and maintain a national control system, including a national control list, in order to implement the provisions," the Washington Times reported.

treaties have to be ratified.
non issue
Obama just demonstrated he’ll do anything he wants - Constitutional or not.
Not anymore. Obama can force gun confiscation by executive order using the UN treaty as an excuse. “We must do this as an example to the world”. That is the same thing he is doing with global warming. It is going to get a lot worse.
This is your response on the night that Obama just tore the Constitution in half and gave a bunch of people amnesty?
[likely 'Rat rallying cry]
The king may want to skip that step.
We are loosing our health care. We are loosing control of our ability to control energy production via the global warming scam. We have lost control of our borders. The EPA is taking control of our property via EPA water and stream control. Next to come will be our firearms. Is there anything left?
Seems like I have a couple of unregistered guns in my portfolio due to inheritance. I have also gifted or sold guns to family and friends making another 6 people owners of non-registered weapons. This is going to make gun confiscation problematic.

I've seen that. New York residents have taken the "Bend over and Spread it" attitude when it comes to gun control. We in flyover country want dinner and sweet talk before we tell you to "F**k Off".
And some believe that if the Prez signed over his authority to the U.N. it’d still be ‘legal’.
Sorry, but the Constitution if the (basis of) Law in the U.S. No treaty can supersede the power delegated by the States and We the People.
Course, the same thing could be said about Dept. XYZ and the numerous ‘regulations’ (that have the weight of ‘law’...somehow) w/out being ‘hindered’ by the the People....
F* it. The Constitution is dead, long and buried. We now live under a Banana Republic at best....
New York residents have replied to this with “Oh, it’s not so bad, just make sure someone else in the deceased’ household has an FOID & anyway if the police do show up, they’ll only take the handguns”.
Don’t live in NYS or NYC but I’ve driven through both. Foreign country with a foreign capital city. So glad I live in America.
“This is going to make gun confiscation problematic.”
Yeah, that and the several millions of people who will shoot anyone trying to take their guns, most definitely including those giving the orders.
[[treaties have to be ratified.

Presidents have to go through congress in order to get law passed- oh wait- not this “president”/emperor
[[ve seen that. New York residents have taken the “Bend over and Spread it” attitude when it comes to gun control.]]
It’s not just new York, it’s every state where draconian gun laws have been enacted- like Chicago, Connecticut, florida, etc etc etc- people in htose states thumped their chest and also declared ‘from my cold dead hands’ but yet when the laws passed they bent right over and meekly gave up their guns
Florida? Don't think so. Chicago is not a state.
I did say florida- I did not mean to include- and I meant cities- and states- should have been more clear apparently- Pennsylvania has draconian laws, Illinois, Rhode island etc etcetc- people’s rights have been systematically eroded in these states on draconian law after another
