Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) chided Republicans for threatening to halt progress on a government funding bill because of President Obamas executive action on immigration.
Even children understand that flipping the table over doesnt help you win the game, Murray said on the Senate floor Wednesday. It just means someone has to pick up the mess youve made. And when it comes to Tea Party political tactics, weve done more than enough of that here in Congress.
Murray, the Senate Budget Committee chairwoman, said she was disappointed that some Republicans are threatening to shut down the government again just to keep families from getting some initial relief from the broken immigration system.
This is the latest example of extreme Republicans creating uncertainty and threatening to hurt our economy if they dont get their way, Murray said. And its the exact opposite of the approach Congress needs to take going forward.
Last year, Republicans caused a nearly two-week government shut down over the funding of ObamaCare. This year, some are suggesting that any funding measure to keep the government open past Dec. 11 should include legislative language to block the president from issuing executive orders on immigration policy.
The administration is expected to issue nearly 5 million worker visas to immigrants, many of whom have children who are U.S. citizens. Obama is expected to announce his plans in a national address Thursday night.
Democrats say the administration has no choice because the House failed to take up the Senate-passed immigration reform bill that provided a pathway to citizenship, increased visas and strengthened border security.
Administrative action is a Band-Aid, but its better than nothing, Murray said. And nothing is what House Republicans are offering.
Murray said she wanted the president to take even further executive actions, including expanding the deferred action program for Dreamers, enforcing a more humane border enforcement process and helping ensure families are able to stay together.
To Patty: Bite me, Commie.
Looks like the DEM women are coming out of the woodwork today and scolding the GOP. It is all very unnecessary. Obama will screwed over the country tonight, so either accept it or move to another country. Lord knows any third option will be completely bypassed.
It won't hurt the real economy where wealth gets created.

To Patty: Go to the Wizard of Oz and get in line behind the Scarecrow.
Why does the Left always frame more government spending as “progress”?
If we need more spending, that means something isn’t working as planned.
That’s regress.
Seems to me that Obama and the Rats are doing the “table-flipping”.
Patty Murray: Everything that is wrong with today’s Democratic Party, all rolled up in one neat (if not very bright) package.
See? This is what I have to deal with, one of the dumbest senators in Congress, she’s an O-tool all the way. They sure are playing the “can’t shut the government down” troll card.
Kiss my @$$ Murray.
All you need is a simple minority to impeach, we have had that for years....so why don’t the GOP impeach is skinny butt? ‘Cause they are worthless.
Third party is the only way. They caved with the shutdown, they will not even try impeachment....MAYBE BECAUSE THE GOP WANTS CHEAP FORIEGN NON-AMERICAN WORKERS TOO?
Actually Patty, when you are dealt the winning hand, you play it craftily to gain the most from it. You go all in.
Even children understand that flipping the table over doesnt help you win the game,
So your playing cards. The one guy cheats. Then changes the rules of the game mid-way. And kills your partner. But we’re just supposed to go along with it.
Funny. Obama is pouring gasoline on the table and about to light a match and Murray has no issue with that.
“Last year, Republicans caused a nearly two-week government shut down over the funding of ObamaCare.”
So...when both sides of an issue are intractable and unyielding, how is that only the pubbies are responsible for the resultant (non)catastrophe? Ya gotta luv the way those idiot libtards think.
As long as the conservatives allow the dhimmicraps to control the terms of the discussion, we’ll never make any headway. It’s coming time for drastic measures...
I’m all for it too. Less damage will be done if they all go home. Unfortunately the pubbies always get the blame!

Hey Patty...We won, you lost, shut up.
(That’s how it works under Obama’s rules, right?)
