Funny you should say that. After hurricane Katrina I was at my parents homesite helping them dig out anything we could. They lived on the beach so their house and every house for 30 miles east and west, and 1/2 mile north was gone. It looked like Hiroshima on August 7, 1945. This area was heavily patrolled to prevent looters and you had to show ID to even enter the area. There were lots of out of state fire departments in the area "assisting". While we were sweating and pulling out small pieces of our lives, a red Ford Ranger pick up marked with the emblem of some Oklahoma fire department stopped to make small talk. A fireman was driving and a firechick was, apparently shopping, because in the back of their truck was stacked a couple sets of fine china. At my own home, the few things I salvaged were stolen from my washed out garage by telephone contractors repairing the lines. A lot of the "helpers", helped themselves to what was left of our stuff.
