The number of immigrants who are in Nevada illegally dropped by about 20,000 people from 2009 to 2012. But Nevada still has the largest share of any state of unauthorized immigrants in its total population, according to a new report from the Pew Research Center.

The study, released Tuesday, examines migration trends among the estimated 11.2 million people who were in the U.S. illegally in 2012. The overall number has held steady from 2009, but 14 states saw their unauthorized immigrant population decrease and seven saw it increase.

While unauthorized immigrants accounted for 3.5 percent of the U.S. population of nearly 316 million in 2012, the share varied from less than 1 percent in 10 states to a high of 7.6 percent in Nevada. California and Texas, each at 6.3 percent, had the next-highest shares of people living there illegally

So that’s why zero wants to sign an illegal EO in Vegas.

But once they become legal, why would they work for less than the minimum wage?

A point i’ve always made.

Legalizing them will really do them no good. They’ll instantly unionize in an attempt to raise their wage, and at that point...Sheldon goes looking for more slave labor.

The point is this...he wants the heat off his back. He hired them illegally and thats the problem.

If they get leglal, he keeps them on for a while, and fires them when they get uppity.

And thenn he hires more illegals, and repeats the cycle.

Just a management issue. Keep costs low, work the labor problem. Put cash in bank, dont hand out much.

I lived in NV for almost 5 years; both Las Vegas & Reno areas. Just moved away late last year.

While there are a lot of illegals in NV (especially in Vegas), there are still overwhelming amounts in CA & AZ. The number has to be in the millions, just in Southern CA alone. Heck, just look at Ventura County, let alone Los Angeles or the rest of SoCal.

All the talking heads throw around numbers of 8-10 million illegals nationwide. Try 8-10 million just in NV/AZ/CA.

My hubby is a 5th generation Californian; the stories his parents tell about the cultural, demographic changes & criminal increases in the past 50 yrs are horribly depressing-now coming to a town near you, courtesy of Obama!

unauthorized immigrants = wetbacks, and PC be damned.

They're either legal immigrants OR invaders.
