I really liked</sarc> the methodology they used.

Here in central SC I thought it was a very mild summer. Growing up back in the late '70s it would be 100 every day from July until late August, early September. This summer I think we may have hit 100 once. They said it was the hottest summer on record and when taking a closer look I saw they were looking at the daily low temperature to make that call.
