I got lucky in Mountain Phase. Toughest weeks of my life. I came down for the 24 hour refit between field problems and had a fever of 102.3. I could hardly move and no one would sit next to me because of the mucus coming out of every hole in my face. I sat in the corner of sick call and cried because I thought I was going to be sent home.

They put me on bed rest, allowed me to eat in the chow hall, and gave me pills the size of my pinky. I woke up after 18 hours of sleep and had a temp of 97.8. Those pills are amazing.

We had more than a few guys fall on the mountains and go to sick call. They were gone the next day.
