Eskalin Joe of Hillsborough said he came to the United States from India legally nearly 10 years ago to work as a software engineer.
His son, Harington, graduated from Hillsborough High School last year. But when it came time for Harington to go to college, he did not qualify for lower in-state tuition at Rutgers, and wound up going to college in Alabama.
Had Eskalin Joe and his family been in the country illegally, Harington could have gotten in-state tuition under the DREAM Act, which New Jersey enacted last year. While the law helps children of undocumented immigrants, it does not cover Joes family, which has legal work status but no green card.
The bill is only for illegal immigrants, said Joe, who added that he applied for a green card in 2010 and has no idea if and when hell receive it. Almost 10 years Im legally here and paying taxes.

Unfreaking believable.
Not Obama’s fault.
When the world is upside down, perhaps it's because we've chosen to follow the leader from below rather than the One from above.
Just a theory...
Liberals disgust me. They genuinely believe that criminals who broke the law to enter our country without permission are entitled to subsidies that legal residents (whether citizens or immigrants) are not entitled to. The idea that an illegal from Mexico, Syria, or Liberia should pay less than a legal citizen from another state or a legal immigrant from India is absurd (but only to sane people, not to liberals).
