They were urged to settle in ATLANTA, but didn't like the crime. And they sent out young men to "scout" the country.
They elected (yes, chose) to settle in Lewiston, Maine. The area was nice, and the benefits were better.
Scary, huh? I would like to denigrate 'em, too, assume they're not bright. But I can't. They planned their strategy, and that's the SCARY thing about this whole resettlement issue.
Never underestimate anyone. They performed reconnaissance and chose Lewiston. (shudder)
