They have called the National Guard, but rumor is the Guard won’t be allowed to do anything any more than the cops have been.

I hope it all fizzles out into nothing, and think that a definite possibility, because most people I know, even those who are convinced that Michael Brown was an innocent killed by a Bad Cop, think the “peaceful” protests are an embarrassment. OTOH, there are a lot of people who want things to get ugly, and most of them seem to be in Ferguson.

Commanders on the ground will be calling the response. If things get real...the NG and cops...of whom at least 80% are Marine and ARMY Reserve, will pour lead like firehoses. The vets I work with in LE will be right back in Fallujah and Desert Stormin’. “Bring it on”. Hear the heavy metal soundtrack? “Everyone dies.” These young turks are itchin’.
