Funny, I thought of that too. I was a senior in High School when Kent State happened, about to enter college, and it was life-changing. It was inevitable given the incredible unrest of the prior months and the intransigence of both the college kids and the government. Ferguson is nowhere near that level -- it's just been boosted by the liberal media, like a lot of other things that sound like the end of the world, but they come and go.

I'd like to see this one be just a flash in the pan, maybe some people die over it but in the grand scheme of things it settles down and goes away. Or maybe even it could become a rallying point for the folks who are right and good, instead of the rioters, looters, and hoodlums.

I just don't see this as having the potential for lasting significance, even so much as a popular song that is still recognizable 45 years later.
