They are flying Iraqi f-16’s until their pilots are trained on them if I am not mistaken?

Could be, I suppose. But not sure why Saudi would be the ones to train their pilots in F-16s, given the other friendly nations (Jordan, Egypt, UAE) that already fly F-16s.

USAF AFSAT is in charge of the RSAF training program.

The Saudi’s don't have F-16s and they would need to attend an F-16 MQ program here in the states, and the Dept of State would have to sign off on this and then send to Congress for notification and approval.

AND, any Iraqi F-16’s being used by someone other than Iraq (a “third-party transfer’) requires Dep of State approval and Congressional notification and approval as well.

. . .and boy howdy, if they did make all the notifications to seek approvals, someone would have leaked it well before it ever made it to Congress. . .ROM ask-it, P&A request, LOR submitted by Saudi to US in-country team, Pentagon DSCA review and approval, SAF/IA review, other US govt agencies, then State and Congressional notification. . .all heck would break loose.

Not happening.
