What can be said about a New Orleans Saints fan elbowing a young woman in the face, outmuscling her, and ripping a souvenir football from her?

She should be greatful that she wasn’t wearing a pair of Air Jordan’s. He would have killed for those.
The gay libs wanted him to give it to the boy next to him with a kiss. :-)
Cause there are a lot of racists on FR
I sounds like you dont know the Saints or current events.
But you’re down with unwarranted insults.
The story in this case is that the Saints fan claims to be an original season ticket holder from the first year of the Superdome. I don't know why that means he should steal the ball. The player was throwing it to the girl, because she was wearing Bengals clothing, and was happy for the player who scored the TD. The Saints fan jumped in front of her and grabbed the ball away from her. There was some contact. It was probably not theft in the legal sense because there is no law that made the ball the woman's property, even though the player intended to give it to her. Had the player handed it to her, and it was then taken from her hands, it probably would have been theft.
It was, however, classless, rude and a sign of a person with no sense of right and wrong. I would imagine his excuse is he has been coming to games for decades and "deserves" a ball. He obviously has no sense of honor.
The Saints organization saw what happened, it was on all the halftime highlights, and someone had the brains to pull a ball from the shelf and take it over to the girl. She was gracious about it.
The Saints fan should sell those season tickets, because he is going to be pelted with garbage whenever he attends in the future. And if he is employed somewhere (I doubt it because he seemed old) he will likely lose his job, or at least be ostracized.
My first thought would be Jets (with the Eagles a close second).
“Why in the world do you turn this into an race thread?”
Because we’re bombarded with race 24/7; you’d be bombarded with this as well if the races were transposed (a white guy took it from a black woman). The preoccupation with race is the backlash against such bombardment.
We’re all sick about hearing Gay this and Gay that.
Should we turn Gay?
No, but if a male fan fondled another male while taking the ball I’m sure it would come up.
The footage itself fed a stereotype; don’t blame me.
I’m not blaming you.
It’s the people who see something like this and their first reaction is based on race — when race has nothing to with it.
It’s a sickness.

Saints fans are just like their team - they play dirty. Sean Payton leads a team of thugs who take cheap shots. Their fans are clearly following that lead.
This Solson person insulted every Saint fan and every Saint player. The bounty scandal is old news, hardly a current event.
For your information the Saints fans are amongst the best there are. You can come down here and wear your teams Jersey and you do not have to worry about being jumped for it. You can't say that about most places. I am not in the French Quarter but I'm sure there are a bunch of Bengals fans there right now having a good time. Yes, you might get some gentle ribbing but people down here are very laid back.
Besides, I get really up set when any Yankee, Northern monkey belittles us Southerners. There is a lot to be said about Southern hospitality but it would be probably lost on you all.
Pull your panties out of your crack.
All true, however, the example we are discussing shows little in the way of hospitality, southern or otherwise. I agree that a too broad brush is used sometimes, and examples of that are found in this thread, but the ball thief's behavior should not be defended by any fair minded person.
My $.02
The Bengal player threw a pick. It happens all the time on the field. There was no pass interference.
What’s next? Will interceptions will be penalized because it just isn’t fair to the receiver, since the ball was meant for him and his feelings might be hurt?
And then what? Will players start wearing pink accessories on the field?

I see your point, but understand where the sickness originates; it is spread by the media.
My cynicism is in high gear and I do believe this young lad has a future with the ladies.
I am sure he has an ‘ulterior’ motive involving the little blond.....
Seriously, that is a nice gesture
What an awesome young man! And the smile on his face afterward, was priceless :)
Good job parental units ;)
And thank You Lord for all involved.
That’s baloney.
Bountygate is the most overblown overhyped scandal ever. The players put up cash for whoever had the best hit during the game. They didn’t and never played dirty or took cheap shots.
The Saints just happened to do it during a time when Americans who are aggressive and play hard are villified. The pussification of America is the reason why it became a story.
Saints fans are amount the nicest and most congenial of all NFL fans. The lady was surrounded by Saints fans and almost everyone in the section was haranguing him for it.
