I have always considered it stupid to follow the advice of economists, especially ones in academia. As an accountant, I was taking an economics class and the teacher said, “we operate on a balanced budget principle”. I piped up and said, “who thought of that, some economist?” The class roared with laugher and the professor could only laugh and say, “ahhh, now my accountant friend has something to say”
Never trust economists who have never had a real job in the market or politicians
