Former President Bill Clinton said Saturday that Democrats lacked a "national advertising campaign" in the recent midterm elections and that he's surprised many Senate races were not closer.

Clinton said in an interview with Politico that Republicans were helped by a larger bloc of voters who felt more strongly about the elections than members of his party. Democrats could have benefited from a national message that reinforced the party's positions on refinancing student loans and promoting equal pay for women, he said.

No it wouldn't. The economy sucks and is going to get worse due to Obamacare. It's the economy Democrats!

Next year Obamacare fines go up and the employer mandate kicks in.

Running on silly stuff, like student loans and equal pay doesn't address the Economy, ISIS, or Ebola.

Bill, you are surprised? Really? Maybe the voters are seeing the Democrat as Marxists and the Republican Party as a party for all*.

* Even if some are Democrat light.

When your product is lousy, all you have left is marketing.

What is it with Dems that they think politics is just Marketing.

The problem is with the "just." A great deal of politics IS marketing. Money matters tremendously in elections, more than it should, since the electorate at large is rather uninformed.

The problem is that Democrats don't care about much except power, so their focus is on the means to acquiring and holding it--and marketing is a big part of it.

Bull muffins! That WAS their message; plus the "War on Women" issue. How did it work for 'em?

William Jefferson Criminal and his sociopath of state are yesterday’s news. There’s a neo-marxist in town, scumbags.

Go home to Arkansas and play with your grand baby.

Is that what he calls it now?

I really don't get the "equal pay for women" part.

Is anyone aware of jobs in America where a woman is paid less than a male counterpart doing the same job, provided qualifications and experience are equal?

If I hire a man and a woman with exact same qualifications and experience, isn't it already illegal to pay the woman less?

You are so right about the Tom Cotton numbers. I cannot wait to see him interviewed this afternoon by Chris Wallace. Tom is a real up and coming young man with a lovely bride. He should be a real credit to Arkansas and to the American Senate.

OK, I’m ready to call this thing. Are you ready America? I calling it a victory for America and for Liberty and a chance for our country to return to some sense of sanity. I’m calling it an AWAKENING!!! America is still in the drowsy state but, America is waking up to the fact that the Democratic Party and it’s policies are too radical and “Economically messy” for America. I’m calling it an AWAKENING!

Good post.

I suspect Hillary is torn between her huge ego telling her America loves her, and a bunch of high paid consultants telling her “maybe they don’t”.

I’ve heard that BJ and Hill are so toxic on the campaign trail that Chels is begging them to stay home when she starts running for office.

Let’s hope they stay in denial; it is a costly mistake.
