I don’t know why Breibart put a Mexican gang image on their report page.

Anyway, this is some information on those charged:

GOOCHLAND COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) — A new person been arrested and charged in connection with the death of Kevin Quick, the murdered reserve police captain from Waynesboro.

Kweli Uhuru now faces gang participation charges in connection with Quick’s killing.

Quick‘s body was found off Old Columbia Road in Goochland earlier this year.

Those are the same charges that Anthony Stokes, Halisi Uhuru, Leslie Casterlow and Anthony White face in the case.

Taken ‘off the table” for a reason:

Was the murder of LEO again directed by the DO”J”,
or just again encouraged by the DO”J”,
or again just enabled by the DO”J”?

Uhuru-————A term I have not heard since the Mau Mau days in Kenya. Now, exactly what authority does the U.S. AG have in this case?

Well, it really was only a tribal initiation. Beside the dead guy was not only white but he was a cop. /S Hell, I am sure if the Just-us Dept could arrange it, they would be released and not charged at all.

It’s way past the time for that honest discussion about race that Eric (The Racist) Holder has been longing to have.

"Holder’s decision would affect Halisi Uhuru, Daniel Lamont Mathis, Shantai Monique Shelton, and Mersadies Lachalle Shelton. All four were arrested in the weeks after Quick’s body was discovered."

Does the state of Virginia, or does it not have jurisdiction in this case? If so, the state can fry the diversity compliant animals and tell Holder to pound sand.

Why doesn’t the state of Virginia prosecute this murder? Why does Eric “These are my folks” Holder get to decide?

I too don’t get how this became a federal case unless there are some federal issues — maybe part of a federal RICO matter? Would be nice if journalists would do their job and give us the whole story.

In the old days I would have accepted that taking the death penalty off the table was part of a deal to get information on a much larger “fish” the feds are looking to prosecute. But with Holder’s Injustice Department, who knows?

Once again, where are the journalists?

I was wondering the same thing... not that today's Fedgov necessarily follows silly things like laws or jurisdiction.

Based on the comments in the linked article, the Commonwealth of Virginia can bring charges as well, any time they please. They are being prosecuted for capital murder under Federal racketeering laws, which can bring the death penalty. The Virginia can charge them now, after the Federal trial or whenever. Double jeopardy does not apply. The Federal Trial might make a nice dry run to see what kind of ridiculous defense they try.

BTW, one of the Jamokes is already complaining that his “due process” rights are being violated. If true due process and justice were applied, he’d be buried in wooden box next to a gallows already. Not to prejudge the case.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (WWBT) -

9 face federal indictments in Capt. Quick murder case
Posted: May 16, 2014 7:17 AM CDT Updated: May 26, 2014 6:09 PM CDT

Nine people now face federal charges in relation to being involved in a violent gang connected to the kidnapping and murder of Captain Kevin Quick. Authorities say the new charges highlight a growing problem in Virginia: gangs doing business where you’d least expect them.

Investigators say most of the suspects are part of a violent street gang, the “99 Goon Syndikate” which is a branch of the “Bloods.” The indictment is 39 pages long. All nine suspects plead not guilty in federal court on Friday.

They are also accused of terrorizing several counties.

“That pattern of racketeering activity alleges the criminals participated in a series of commercial robberies of convenience stores in Charlottesville, Louisa and Goochland and Fluvanna counties,” says U.S. Attorney Timothy Heaphy. Most of the robberies were armed and the gang is also accused of selling illegal drugs across Virginia.

Now, Daniel Mathis,18, his sisters Shantai, 24, and Mersadies Shelton, 20 and Travis Bell also known as Kweli Uhuru, 23, face the most serious charges which could bring the death penalty.

“Most significantly perhaps the abduction, kidnapping and murder of Waynesboro Police Officer Captain Kevin Quick,” says U.S. Attorney Timothy Heaphy.

According to the indictment, Bell was higher up in the gang hierarchy with the title, “Big Homie.” Mathis was a “Soldier,” Shantai Shelton was a “Sergeant” and Mersadies Shelton’s title is unknown.

Many/most of the facts of this case seem to be impossible to find. I'd think that murdering a police Captain -- and then leaving the body somewhere it could be found -- isn't something that any but the dumbest of gangsters would do. And why are the Feds involved in this case?

It is ironic. “Uhuru” is the Swahili word for Freedom or Independence.

Does anyone know how the Federal government has any jurisdiction in a murder case?
