If it takes a shutdown to stop amnesty, then so be it. The Reps need to take a principled stand because we have a despotic President whose unilateral actions will destroy this country. This rises above partisan politics.

The vast majority of Americans are against executive amnesty. If the GOP (the Stupid Party) can't make the case for stopping this abuse of power, then they do not deserve control of Congress.

During the period between 2012 and 2014 elections, the Gov was shutdown. GOP picked up how many seats in each chamber, not to mention governorships?
