Actually, I’d like to see the “Incoming Senate Panel Chairman” lay off a significant percentage of the members of The American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE).

I would add one item to the list. All government employees that have past due income taxes should be terminated and whatever tax is owed be taken from their accumulated vacation and retirement fund.
