The question is this: Will the state of Texas come to your defense when the feds arrest you for violating a federal gun law?
Don’t know, but Colorado has had legal weed for a while now, and the Feds haven’t done jack squat to stop them! If this passes into law, I expect the state to tell the Feds to eat shite.
Of course not.
And here's your answer.
“Will the state of Texas come to your defense when the feds arrest you for violating a federal gun law?”
The Sheriff of the county could stop them if he wanted to. He could arrest the Feds if they didn’t have his permission to operate.
The answer to that question is where the rubber meets the road.
We all wish we knew the answer.
The wording is clear...”not enforceable”...
So, your concern IS well founded, and part of me agrees with you on that...
This bill is designed to illicit a Federal response...The committee work that is lined up ready to get underway in January will set the tone...
My concern with this is if the Feds keep their mouths shut and not raise too much of a stink, I would probably be wondering what they might be up to about this...
If they get really vocal, and get the usual “state” whiners and cryers together and bitch about it while it is being debated...That too, will tell us a few things about how they will attack this state and its right to set and adhere to its laws...You know, that whole States rights thing that seems to be increasingly ignored by the Feds...
This is one to keep an eye on and watch its progress...I guess we have to find the bill number and see who is co-sponsoring this as well...Considering the process will be favorable for this to go all the way to the new governor for signature, and not just be enacted by the usual September 1st, 2015 date...
We should really keep track of this one...
HB176...
Oops...Muh bad...
Still the co-sponsors would be a good thing to see posted...
