The US Will See 50 Percent More Lightning Strikes, Thanks to Global Warming

By now we're familiar with some of the scarier potential impacts of climate change: Floods, fires, stronger hurricanes, violent conflicts. Well, here's a new one to add to your nightmares. Lightning strikes in the continental United States will increase roughly 12 percent for every degree Celsius of global warming, a study published today in Science finds. If warming continues unchecked, that could translate into a 50 percent increase in lightning by the end of the century—three strikes then for every two strikes now. (On average, there are currently about 25 million strikes per year.)

Hey Tim how can I see lightning when there’s freaking snow everywhere? Melted ice caps in the Arctic and Antarctica. Rising sea levels. Food shortages and famine. Animals such as the polar bear facing extinction. Now increased lightning? And so so. And so on. And so on. These people never give up. They’ll just keep putting out these gloom scenarios on global warming until one of them comes true. By the way, anyone seen Al Gore lately? Is he up kayaking in the “clear and iceless” waters of the Arctic?

The current polar airmass over much of the US is proof of glow-bull warming. Record cold is a form of alternative warming.

Actually, we will probably get less lightning strikes using exactly the same [tormented] logic.

TRANSLATION: We just invented a way to detect 50% more lightning strikes.

1. WHO can even count the number of lightning strikes each year - everywhere???

2. WHO can hold these numbskull predictors feet to the flame when/if this is not true?

Atmospheric nitrogen fixation (lightning) probably contributes some 5– 8% of the total nitrogen fixed.

Fortunately we can add the plant growth benefits of increased CO2.

Add to that the increased benefit of holding off the next ice age and we have a triple winner.

What we should really be doing with this Global Warming crap is fleecing the people who pay for these crap studies. As they saying goes: “If I can use statistics, I can prove anything.”

There is weather recording equipment that plots and counts lightning strikes.
about three years ago we had several days of tornado warnings. The radar showed the front and clearly identified the dangerous cells. The same radar showed lightning events all over the moving front.

Do even they really believe this shiat when they print it?

Of course not. But they rely on fooling the stupid American voters like Herr Gruber of MIT.

My view is that there are more lightning strikes, more tornadoes, more hurricanes only because we now have to TECHNOLOGY to “see” each of those events that previously one only saw if they were actually where they were happening. Thus if no one is around to see a lighting strike or a tornado or a hurricane in the middle of the ocean, it, from a human perspective, NEVER HAPPENED.
