Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid asked President Obama on Thursday to hold off issuing his executive orders on immigration until after Congress has passed a Continuing Resolutionthat will fund the government until the end of September.
Reid is sensing a growing consensus among Republicans in both chambers that a government shutdown might be the only way to halt Obama's illegal plans.
Even the two biggest RINO's in the Senate - McCain and Graham - are on board with presenting the president with a budget that does not fund his immigration schemes:
"If the president illegally tries to grant amnesty to millions of more people, I believe Congress should use every available tool to stop that amnesty and to defend the rule of law," Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) told The Huffington Post.
Even Republicans who criticized last year's government shutdown agreed. Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), both vocal critics of the previous shutdown and co-authors of the Senate immigration bill that passed last year, warned of grave consequences of Obama were to act unilaterally.
"Why not give the new Congress six months to see if we can find a way forward?" Graham told HuffPost. "You've got a bunch of new people coming in who need to be tested about what they believe regarding immigration. Patience is a virtue in life, it's a necessity in a democracy. I just think it's ill-conceived and the public will rebel against it."
Graham added that he had appealed directly to the White House on the matter.
"I said, 'Listen, what's the downside of giving the new Congress a chance? I think most Americans will find this inappropriate and Democrats will pay a price,'" he said.

MESSAGE: tell Congress that your midterm vote was specific---a demand that they fight tooth and nail---using both tooth and nail----to demolish the Obama/Reid amnesty plan to force American taxpayers to subsidize the expansion of the Democrat party w/ foreign voters.
AMERICANS HAVE BEEN VERY PATIENT: Americans demand the Republican leadership tell Obama: "If the president unilaterally moves to augment the power of the Executive Branch in an unprecedented and unconstitutional manner via E/O'ing amnesty, then the Legislative Branch will need to increase its powers in order to maintain the balance of powers called for in the US Constitution.
The Senate can do this in an unprecedented but completely constitutional manner, by providing that the filibuster rule is suspended completely until such time as the president withdraws his executive aggrandizement.
RATIONALE--Obama's temporary amnesty E/O requires temporary suspension of the rule. That should also include Congress passing laws without the president signing the bill.
If it is okay for the president to overreach, then it is okay for Congress to overreach. Obama forgets that the Congress---and Americans---can also say, “We have been patient.”
(1) Fund every penny that is budgeted now.....except defund all DHS, ICE, HHS and USCIS' rubber-stamp activities. Defund anything and everything that directly and indirectly deals with amnesty: work permits, green cards for illegals, gravy train subsidies, re-situating unaccompanied minors w/ families. Then let Obama defend his amnesty E/O or take the blame for the entire shutdown himself.
(2) As a further warning----no votes on ANY Obama nominees until Jan 20, 2017. No judges, No Attorney General, no sub-cabinet secretaries. NOTHING----thanks to the SCOTUS ruling, Obama could not recess-appoint ANYONE, if the House declares the Congress is always in session.

A Google search from the middle of 2010 until mid June of this year found Gruber was deeply involved in projects involving health care for illegals.

Looks like they going to reduce the funding rate by a couple of months every week going forward.

That creepy geezer doesn’t know what a budget is. When is the last time we had a budget in DC.
The problem is sooooooo simple.
Assume the govt takes in 2.2 trillion, pass a law that that is ALL the government can spend, period. And, no borrowing or printing money!
The one exception is defense which should be set at some % of GNP.
All non essential agencies simply would have no money and would have to close or cut back by half, or more.
There would be gunfire in the streets and all hell would break loose but this is what will one day happen anyway!
Can anyone name a Representative or Senator who was NOT elected due to the earlier shutdown? I believe people voted for Republicans because they want this type of stuff to stop.
Any logical thinking person would see this as evidence that giving in to Obama on the budget to fund his entire transformation for a year (or six months or whatever) is suicide - because they are already telling us that the moment the GOP surrenders the power of the purse - His Heinous will decree Amnesty.
If the GOP surrenders the purse now, and passes the CR with this information now known, The GOP is revealing it’s guilt in enabling a dictatorship and being complicit in Obama’s fundamental transformation of the country.
Instead of melting the switchboard to yell at Congress to oppose Amnesty - we need to be insisting the GOP does not surrender the only weapon they have - the power of the purse.
But I already know that surrender is a done deal, as we also know they are on board with Amnesty. November 4 will go down as the biggest waste of trust in American history.
