Strong, pronounced shaking felt in Wichita. Likely felt in Tulsa, OKC, and probably as far away as Kansas City

Yes, I live very close to Mogul and that swarm was no big deal except to EQ virgins.

The one on the border is getting very interesting. BTW there is no drilling or fracking in that area. I spend a lot of time around there mining and hunting.

Is it possible that magma might be creeping up to the surface?

Local geologist seem to think not. It is typical of EQ patterns in Nevada to see these types of swarms. They go on for sometime and then just quit. When the Mogul one was going on I started a rumor that it was a buried alien mother ship getting ready to break free. lol...had some local hand wringers all excited. The population density in the area is minimal so not uch damage can be expected in the event of a big one. Closet town is Cedarville to the West(very small) and Denio to the East(even smaller)

To put things in perspective, in the last year, Kansas and Oklahoma have had more earthquakes than California of magnitude 2.5+

Just rarely have they exceeded 4.

If you run the numbers, Kansas and Oklahoma average 10-12% of the entire world’s 2.5+ earthquakes now.

Take that California. You need some tornadoes to make up the deficit.

The quakes may be because of the Nemaha Ridge.
(from wiki description)

The Nemaha Ridge is located in the Central United States. It is a buried structural zone associated with a granite high in the Pre-Cambrian basement that extends from approximately Omaha, Nebraska to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The ridge is associated with the seismically active Humboldt Fault zone. The ridge is associated with the Proterozoic Midcontinent Rift System which extends into northern Kansas about fifty miles west of the Nemaha Ridge.[1] The long term uplift along the ridge has been attributed to isostatic uplift due to the anomalously thick crust adjacent to the Midcontinent Rift.[2]
