Huh? Every day he’s looking at a number; 50,120 one day, 50,127 the next day, day after day until it creeps up to 52,168. Later that day, in a speech, he looks at his notes and says the number is 5,168, and it doesn’t strike him as odd. It just can’t be.
If he had been hearing these numbers every day as he claimed in the speech, he would have known immediately that he had misspoken because he would have known that 5 thousand wounded was way too small. He didn’t correct himself because that was probably the first time he’d seen any numbers. I believe wholeheartedly that he lies without compunction as does this entire administration.
