President Obama will have to get his nominee for attorney general past a Republican-controlled Senate, Democratic and Republican aides say.
A packed schedule after the election is almost certain to push the vetting process for Loretta Lynch into January, when Republicans are set to take power in the upper chamber.
It seems likely [the Lynch vote] would be in the next Congress. Its difficult to process an [attorney general] that quickly, said a Democratic aide.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) has not yet made a decision on whether to move Lynchs nomination in the lame-duck session, according to spokesman Adam Jentleson.
But aides say the time crunch and growing GOP opposition to Lynch make it exceedingly unlikely that the replacement for Eric Holder will be confirmed in December.

I don’t see this as an either/or situation, rather both/and should be stopped. No more racists/communists/extremists.

50 days to go?
From what I can tell, Obama not shutting down his campaign organization (Organizing For America, OFA) after winning the Presidency is very out of the ordinary. He has competed for $$ with the DNC. I like this.
Harry wanted some of that money to go to senate races. Obama refused. Harry was upset.
Obama is a failed president. That clown cannot get out of the a white a house soon enough.
Yeah, I remember that, from the vain bastard Obama.
Agreed, both should be stopped. But the lame duck session is short. So GOP needs to set priorities. In my opinion appointment of very liberal judges is much more destructive than what the AG can do in 2 years. No one can be any worse than Holder. His brain is fried with racial issues.
“Exactly, no lame duck confirmations. “
Beyond that, there should not be ANY Congressional Sessions beyond the November General Elections period! No matter whether or not there was a party change, there most certainly are winners and losers, who need to be accountable to the voters.
I can’t wait. I think they are all mad as hell at BO for basically destroying the dem party for a generation and with that their careers.
Based on some public statements from this woman they’ve put forth, I’m not sure she’s any better.
“Bad move. Shell be confirmed, regardless; but if the DIMS do it in the lame duck session, they own her.”
Not if the Republicans can PLAY THEIR CARDS right (which is virtually hopeless).
Take her nomination up, next year, ONLY if Executive Amnesty is dead in the water...otherwise let her wallow.
If time will permit to stop both the AG nomination AND nomination of liberal judges, well and good.
My point is about priority. Which will hurt the conservative agenda for many decades? The AG or the liberal federal judges.
In our life we have to set priorities. Republicans in congress must do the same.
Newly appointed Federal judges will last 30 years.
Pay attention to which is more serious. A slew of liberal judges will doom the country lot longer than any voter ID issues for 2 years.
Agreed - The AG changes nothing at the DOJ. No Federal Judgeships for the next two years unless they are Scalia's or Thomas' allies.

I think someones’ nose is getting longer.
Obama could always make her a recess appointment...but her term would end a couple of weeks before the end of his.
