I couldn’t agree more and they won’t have their wing out for a handout.
How stupid can they be...?
Set a small charge off to scare them off the bridge and then blow the damn thing up....
The birds will find a new home all by themselves...
I guarantee they won’t show up at the homeless shelter....
I'm not sure what is the leading culprit in bringing down this great nation, but the hand-wringing fruitcake environmentalists have to be near the top.
Thanks for the Ping, kind sir!
That's easy!
Curly, Moe, and Larry.
Agreed, Fly, the enviro-nazis are right there at the top.
The birds know crappy Chinese manufacturing when they see it.
The birds aren't stupid - they know who they're negotiating with.
We have timber property in Santa Cruz and had to wait until Sept 15th to operate in the area of two trees that MIGHT be habitat for some long eared bats that are not there. Can’t hurt the critters that are not there NOR can you risk HARMING THEM THOUGH THEY’RE NOT THERE. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR
“The birds know crappy Chinese manufacturing when they see it.”
May I point out that only Cormorants and other “Shit Birds” can make a truly shitty bridge.
PS Bird exhaust IS corrosive.
PPS Bridges are steel.
I hear you and can imagine what the badged bureaucrats were saying to you about the non-existent residents.
The cut off for timber harvest is Oct. 15th. The bottom line is that one is pretty much screwed. The only reason we can harvest is that we have an exception to operate in the winter. That’s defined as before 2 inches of rain or until Nov. 15. aah bureaucrats. (SP?)
If you like your bridge, you can keep it.
So the birds are too stupid to fly away when the bridge starts being dismantled? The stupid birds will die and the smarter ones will live.
This reminds me when I lived and worked in Northern California. This was during the height of the Spotted Owl scam. Of course ALL logging had to be shut down on the west coast because the spotted owl can ONLY live in the forests that were all slated for harvesting. That came shattering down when a pair of breeding owls moved in to a Kmart sign in Crescent City.
One shotgun, 1000 rounds. End of discussion.
Ah yes, the spotted owl fiasco and this reminded me of it also. I lived in So OR and saw the results of many being put out of work and like you say, it was a SCAM!
“————— double crested cormorants, not double breasted. I tend to like things that are the latter.”
Like jackets and coats?
:-)
.
Any FHWA funded project requires environmental review, including remedation to comply with the Migratory Bird Act. What was the plan then? Follow through. Done.
Yes, but the birds will be severely inconvenienced.
Well, they could hire a Chinese crew to demolish the old section; they'll have free lunch and the birds disappear. Win-win.
