An offer by congressional Republicans to work on immigration reform in January was flatly rejected by President Barack Obama, reports said Friday.
At a post-midterm election lunch and meeting that lasted two hours, House Speaker John Boehner warned Obama not to take executive action to stem deportations or allow a flood of new immigrants to enter the country, the Washington Examiner reports.
Instead, Boehner asked Obama to let Republicans work on reforming and modernizing immigration early in the new session, Wyoming Republican Sen. John Barrasso told Reuters.

Thanks. With reference to my Post #13, the quotation cited at the end is, of course, from the man who was known for being “the Father of the Constitution”—James Madison!
There is no doubt that Obola wants to create a constitutional crisis. Its his version of the Reichstag Fire. Remember the mantra, “Let no crisis go to waste”.
Thanks for the info. I guess that makes us adopted great-great-great-great-grandchildren.
Not gonna happen. Who in the House will speak up against Boehner? They didn’t last time....well, maybe the three who got demoted....
I’d like to see Gowdy as Speaker.
You're pissen' up a wet rope in a down draft.
Yeah, I know. Based on their history, there’s little chance that the Republicans will suddenly and miraculously grow a spine. If they don’t produce, 2016 will probably reverse their gains as the senatorial elections are not going to anything like the opportunities they had in 2014. Dems don’t have many seats at risk in the next election.
But the GOP is what it is. They don’t play to win. That’s just a fact.
Pass spending bills that reign in Fedzilla and dare Obama to veto them.

Yes, I like your proposal. Reduce the deficit, shrink the bureaucracy, lower taxes, and take some of the government’s oppressive weight off the people’s backs. When Obama vetos these bill, he’s the bad guy. So what’s not to like? Let’s get moving on this, NOW!
Caution, Trey Gowdy is not strong against amnesty. I don't care what it is called, if illegals do not go home, it is amnesty.
Bear in mind many of these oppressive Fedzilla progams are Republican creations.
Yes, both parties love to spend the taxpayer’s money. That’s why we need a third party, but it may already be too late for that. The national debt is $17.9 TRILLION at the moment. Its a runaway train; an ugly wreck is inevitable.
