You’re not an American any more than I am Brazilian or Japanese. The difference is if I went to Japan looking for a job, a college, or government help they would check my status and throw me out of the country no questions asked because.....wait for it......I would be there illegally!!!!! See how it works?

You might remind her that ‘undocumented immigrant’ is a political term whereas the proper legal term is ‘illegal alien,’ and since you wish to be factual, not political, you use ILLEGAL ALIEN.*

I make this point often in my US Govt classes. . and points are deducted if ‘undocumented’ is used in any assignment.

*(I know, I know, lost cause and all that as liberals emote rather than think, and are political rather than truly American)

I should add she’s a lawyer and active in Democrat circles. A very nice person, but swallows the leftist line on every issue whole.

If a person was a baby when their parents brought them into the country illegally then the person should get amnesty. If they were a teenager and snuck into the country then they need to get sent back to their home country. The teenager is old enough to understand that they were breaking the law, Children (12 and under) should get amnesty but still need to go through the steps to become a citizen.

Children get a pass parents go back and then must comply with the process from the beginning.

I know its tough but hey I have no problem with enforcing the law.

Ok, Amigo, you’ve used our facilities long enough. Take your engineering degree back to Mexico and make YOUR country better.

I understand but at least then they are going to court and asking the court to redress their grievances. Its the Constitutional way.

I call it a first test of the desire to comply with the law...

o who is going to pay for all the kids support, schooling clothes shelter food medical care, etc? you obviously have not thought this through unintended (or intended?) consequences.

my bleeding heart is out of blood and my wallet is out of money

time to tell them to go home and fix their own country
and take responsibility for it we have enough problems here with legal immigrants and citizens.

Yeah, I would think that logic and reason would be attributes necessary for a career in engineering.
