I was an 80s kid. I mis the whole 80s thing. I try to explain it to my daughter but she can’t really grasp it. You really did have to be there I guess. The mindset was so different than today.

Yea it had it’s problems and wasn’t Right wing Utopia even with Ronaldus Magnus. Lots of problems. But the human spirit he helped us refind was there. I was young under Carter and I remember the ‘malaise’. It was real and it crushed that spirit. Obama is worse because then we COULD look to the GOP and see some hope. Today we can look to a FRACTION of that GOP and see hope. The Downward spiral.

Or maybe it was just all the cocaine ;)

I finished high school in the late eighties; I’d worked for years already at that point. There really seemed to be opportunity everywhere (at least to my young mind).

The real challenge for Dems today in trying to court younger voters is that even those that remember the 90s know this economy sucks.
