how few resources there are in rural areas for people looking for healthy groceries... Makes me wonder how my grandparents ever survived without a major grocery chain near their rural Missouri farm.

Ditto, I can remember when the first “supermarket” open in my grandmother’s town. Everybody was amazed and impressed.

When my kids were growing there were no stores anywhere close to us and we only shopped once a month on payday. The Manor Man came once a week though and we always bought eggs, milk, butter, sliced white bread and the best ever cinnamon rolls from him.
