Obama Lashes Out at Republicans During White House Bipartisan Lunch

Obama met with Republican leaders today at the White House for a “bipartisan lunch.”
This was his first meeting with Republican leaders after Democrats were shellacked in the midterm elections.

Obama lashed out at Republicans when the cameras were turned off.
The AP reported:

Republicans attending the postelection lunch at Obama’s invitation said they asked him for more time to work on legislation, but the president said his patience was running out. He reiterated his intent to act on his own by the end of the year if they don’t approve legislation to ease deportations before then and send it to him to sign.

The Republicans’ approach, three days after they resoundingly won control of the Senate in midterm elections, “seemed to fall on deaf ears,” Sen. John Cornyn of Texas said in a telephone interview. “The president instead of being contrite or saying in effect to America, ‘I hear you,’ as a result of the referendum on his policies that drove this last election, he seems unmoved and even defiant.”

“I don’t know why he would want to sabotage his last two years as president by doing something this provocative,” said Cornyn…

The meeting was tense at times, according to a senior House Republican aide. The aide was not authorized to describe the back-and-forth publicly by name and spoke only on condition of anonymity.

Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid, about to lose his grip on the upper chamber, barely said a word. The aide said at one point as House Speaker John Boehner was making an argument on immigration, Obama responded that his patience was running out and Vice President Joe Biden interrupted to ask how long Republicans needed. Obama angrily cut Biden off, the aide said.

Hearings forcing testimony from his chief advisors, Jarrett and Holder, would be enough to get the message across that it’s time to go.

That @sshole needs to be taken down. I wish the republicans had the stones to do it.

Republicans seriously need to take Limbaugh’s advice.

Send him bill after bill promoting conservative reforms, then when Obama vetoes, hold press conferences and announce that they’re trying to work with Obama, but he’s the one obstructing.

Obama and the Dems are trying to get Republicans to cave and accept their failed policies, because they know conservatives will stay home in 2016.

But do any of their staff listen to Rush to get that message??

Common ground?

What on earth were Boner and MccConman thinking?

Obama has to desire to listen to the American people or to accede to their wishes.

They would do well to remember when Republicans were in the minority in 2009, his response was I won. Its my policies.

Well they should repay him in kind. Stop him.

The repubs hold the purse strings now.

Simply defund the crap zero has signed into law or by executive order.

Ground Air Force 1,2 and the helicopters for lack of funds, etc.

It's important that Boehner and McConnell at least sound conciliatory. Let Obama look like an intransigent jerk.

..... Democrats are themselves ready to revolt rather than find themselves totally eviscerated at the next election, they may find the 25th amendment their way out....

Biden and a majority of his cabinet ..... now that would be something to see. Then, a 2/3 vote of both Houses. Sounds a far fetch.

However, maybe Biden (aka Joey Plugs) is a possible 'Sleeper Agent.' We here tend to think of him as an assklown based on his offbeat public persona. but, BUTTT, never forget this guy is one hell of a very partisan political operative, a highly effective grass-roots campaigner, the possessor of a great common touch, and actually the man who "discovered" Obama, famously calling him, ".... the clean Negro with no accent." Plus he has been around DC long enough to know where every body is buried, who killed it, and who dug the grave. He also has been smart enough to enrich his entire family to the tune of some $100+ Million! Dumb? Nah, I don't think so. A little spacy-senile, maybe. Crazy like an old fox is more like it. He also really really always wanted to be President. If there's to be a cabal to remove The Mombasa MF, Joey Plugs just might be the guy to lead it. Of course, if Joey Plugs and his cabinet were to turn on him, Barry just might resign. What do the sticks say, Ching?

Imagine a Congressional subpoena for all emails connected to Valerie Jarrett’s office.

These would detail the political angles being played in schemes behind weird domestic policies that never made any sense and the overt backing of the agenda of the Muslim Brotherhood overseas that have led to wars in the Middle East.

The American people would finally be allowed to know what it’s been up against for these past 5 3/4 years.

Playing nice with Obama is a fruitless cause. They should have not shown up at all! All he ever wants is his own platform to rattle off his demands or toot his horn on how much he’s doing for the country.

Which would grease the skids for the Democrats to give him the bum's rush when the public outrage kicks in.

All of the Democrats are communist sons of bitches just like he is.

It’s time to go after the communists in Congress and their goddamn constituency, these communist front “immigration reform” groups and the unions.

They want a class and race war, then give it to them.

The idea that the Right would allow this foreigner to illegally confer amnesty on millions of criminals in exchange for votes without stopping it by any means necessary is preposterous.

Barry Goldwater headed the Republican "death squad" that delivered the verdict to Nixon. It would have to be a few senior Democrats that tell Obama that it's his time to go.

I don' think he'll last another 6 months in office under these circumstances without a serious intervention by someone who he would listen too. He can't grasp the concept of Constitutional separation of powers it seems. His pen and phone can not replace congress. If the DEMs allow him to do so they likely won't see majority again for decades. Even Harry Reid is smart enough to realize that now. When you have respected DEM strategist like Pat Caddell raising serious concerns about the administrations policies it is serious indeed.

If you want to go after the unions, what you have to do is repeal every labor law dating back to 1935 for most of the world, and every labor law dating back to 1924 for the rail and airline industries.

At that point, a Supreme Court decision from 1917 citing the Clayton Antitrust Act becomes the law, and that decision banned unions for being in restraint of trade.

The coins gave me #49, Revolution. Quite ominous.

You’re right about Biden having always wanted to be president, he has run about a gazillion times, since back in the 80s.

When I read what you said about Biden perhaps being the one to secretly orchestrate Obama’s ouster, my jaw dropped, because THAT really does make sense — Biden gets his dream of being prez fulfilled, even if for a short time....wow

“There will come a point where the remaining members of his party in Congress will understand that they have to cut their losses. Obama will be the first president to be impeached by the House, tried and convicted in the Senate with a bi-partisan vote, and removed from office.

It will be a red letter day here at FR.”

_______________________________________________________

It will, indeed. I, for one, am tired of fearing riots in the streets in the event of his impeachment. There are riots anyway!

He is, was, and always will be, a terrible president, a dangerous man. I hope someday that every American, no matter the color of his or her skin, understands this, and gets rid of him through the process our Founding Fathers envisioned, and the sooner, the better.

If Barack Obama isn’t a candidate for impeachment, after everything, then who could possibly qualify?
