I am rabidly pro 2A, but I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on that, until he shows otherwise.
I get the idea that Carson wasn’t a guy who gave guns and gun rights a lot of thought in his role a surgeon and philanthropist. Because of this, he fell into the false “common sense” of thinking “some guns should be allowed in some places but not others”.
I think he has a better understanding of the importance of the 2nd Amendment now. If he waffles again, I will write him off, but until then, I’d support him. (though I’d like Ted Cruz even better).
He is. He needs to go on a nationwide listening tour of gun ranges and learn a few things. Maybe take a Johnny Appleseed course. Read some history re gun control vis a vis the black man.
