In an era where few things are deemed as laudable as coming out as gay, Tim Cook (Apple CEO) has continued the trend by officially announcing his homosexual orientation. Seeing himself as an influential leader, he conveyed the responsibility he feels to fight for so-called equality of gays. To support his claim of inequality of gays, Cook proclaimed that "there are laws on the books in a majority of states that allow employers to fire people based solely on their sexual orientation." Almost instantly, the media flooded the web with articles like, "The 29 States Where You Can Still Be Fired for Being Gay" complete with colorful maps to pinpoint the bigots. Horrible, isn't it? States that actually allow you to fire people because they are gay! But like many liberal chants, the statement is incredibly misleading and the truth isn't quite as simple.

Funny to think that I can be fired for liking anchovies. What bigots!!!
As long as you don't flaunt it, you will not be targeted for being straight.
Tim Cook is going to burn in hell forever. Nothing else about this story matters.
By passing laws to protect sexual deviants it will become impossible to fire the most incompetent employee if they claim protected sexuality.
That is the purpose of such legislation.
from his position —
Don’t want to interpret that!
Position??
Laptop, maybe.
I have never heard of anyone being fired for being gay. Never. Only of volunteers for the Boy Scouts and similar organizations being asked to step down.
I HATE Apple products. A former employer loved Apple and gave all his employees iPad Mini’s for Christmas one year. Almost useless, except for occasional mindless, non-productive entertainment value.
I’m always told how stable the Apple programming is. Wrong! Lockups and sudden shut downs have me using my PC more often than not for e-mailing and FReeping!
Tim Cook can still confess his sins, repent and accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Not only a hater but playing a little loose with the truth as well.
I know some normal people who bought iPhones and Macs not because they are associated with gay lifestyle, but only because they are simple to use. The stigma of "gay company" will most likely prompt them to get a better product next time around. I, personally, dislike glitter that is associated with their products; never bought one, and likely never will. I have no use for "simple" things.
Besides, Android phones are already technically superior to Apple's phone. I'm writing some code for Android right now, and it is very easy. To compare, I don't even know Objective C that would be necessary to code for iPhone, and I don't own a Mac to do that. Technical advantage is not on Apple's side either. They do have momentum, of course, so they aren't going anywhere soon... but Microsoft also had momentum a decade ago - and where are they now?
That’s half of Obama’s 58 states.
True, but unlikely.
Uhh... sorry. But you’re just wrong. I have several Macs. They never lock up, or freeze, or just shut down. Tim Cook’s beliefs aside, Apple is (or has been) a fantastic incubator of innovation.
Prove me wrong, then.
I’m referring to iPads, iPhones. Are they exempt from critique?
And Apple mobile devices, more than PC, seem to have a planned obsolescence built in of around 2 years. And they are so proprietary that you CAN’T EVEN REPLACE THE BATTERY YOURSELF, but have to have a complete “replacement” for $99 (as of now.)
But he won’t because he has identified himself by the type of perverted sex he craves.
