The party platforms are amended each Presidential election cycle during their nominating conventions. Therefore, what I wrote for the 2012 election is still relevant... sadly so.

My brother-in-law is a rabid catholic. Today, he and his wife will vote straight-line Democrat. My sister-in-law’s reasoning...Republicans don't do enough to oppose abortion. For the sake of family peace, I didn't even try to to rebut her line of reasoning. They live in the People's Republic of California, so it's not like there are any close races in their area.

Catholics are easily ignored because we are divided among ourselves. Laypeople as well as clergy disagree openly on Church teaching and priorities.
Might help if we could get the Pope on board with that, too.

Too many Catholics seem all to willing to vote for “social justice” over and above the blood of unborn innocents. And the Church does little to discourage this.

“rabid” Catholic??? There’s a attitude for founding dialogue ...
Print off the voter’s guide. Hand it to ‘em. Say nothing, nothing need be said.
I read it. Those five non-negotiable positions should unite ALL Christians, regardless of species.

My Church of Christ relatives vote D because of the poor immigrant babies that waddle themselves across our border. That’s more seats filled in their fancy Starbucks-in-the-basement, rock-band-in-the-choir loft worship facility. Poor Catholics AND poor Protestants are to blame for this mess.

Serious Catholics don’t need a voting guide
the CINOs are the ones that need that.

Woah! The CofC (Cambellites) people I know do not believe in kitchens in church or instrumental music! Some even have apoplexy if you happen to blow on a pitch pipe for congregational singing!

According to Catholic theologians, five moral issues are intrinsically evil and must never be promoted by law. Intrinsically evil actions fundamentally conflict with the moral law and can never be performed under any circumstances. It is a serious sin to deliberately endorse or promote any of these actions, and no candidate who wants to advance the common good will support any action contrary to the non-negotiable principles involved in these issues. These five issues are abortion, euthanasia, embryonic stem cell research, human closing and homosexual marriage. All good issues, but I expected to see more conservative / Tea Party issues that I normally find on Free Republic.
