Mitt Romney is keeping a very high profile this midterm-election season by campaigning coast to coast for Republicans, and two recent polls suggest why he might be encouraged to stay active in politics. Romney and his family say Mitt will not be running for president in 2016, but in August the two-time presidential candidate and 2012 GOP nominee made sure to add, circumstances can change.
GOP strategist Mark McKinnon describes what what those changing circumstances could look like. If Jeb Bush or Chris Christie do not run, McKinnon tells National Review Online, then one could make an argument for Mitt Romney.

It’s a contest between Sucks and Blows.
It is like a starving man being offered a $hit sandwich, he will eat it but he won’t like it. The best he can hope for is some undigested corn kernels.
These two need to go home and try something else. Romney is a good man but he didn’t close the deal in 2012. He blinked and went for the mythical middle-ground when he had Obama on the ropes. Who knows, maybe the consultants convinced him that in the magic Middle Kingdom that he would find a unicorn to ride up to the White House on.
I'll say it again; No matter how you slice Mitt Romney he will still be a MORMON.
There are fundamental Christians who are Republicans who will not vote for a Mormon, as seen in the last election. They will sit it out again.
I held my nose and voted for Mitt and would reluctantly do so again if I had no other choice.
Fundamental Christians won't vote for a MORMON any more than I would vote for a devout Muslim. That's the way it is.
The Stupid Party should realize this and come up with another candidate. - Tom
My motto for 2016 so far is Embrace the Suck.
Hillary: Unfit to Testify, Unfit for Office.
You’re right, marron.
Romney would be a great candidate... if he ever developed a hard edge.
I think white GOP voters stayed home in 2012 because Romney is the incarnation of why they have struggled economically for the past 20 years. That will not change in 2016 and I do not see why Hillary will just bring out the vulture capitalist ads like Ted Kennedy and Obama used against Willard.
Well, since no one has done anything to create a viable alternative over the past 6 years, we’re just going to have to choose between Hillary and whatever the RNC gives us.
If Romney lost 4 million GOP votes last election it will be eight million or more GOP votes he won’t get in 2016 because none of us will be voting for another RINO and the lesser of two evils. The GOPe can’t open their eyes and realize conservatives are the only ones keeping the Republican Party viable. They’ll take the big win tomorrow as a mandate for moderation and will fast pedal amnesty.
LOL
” Romney is a good man but he didnt close the deal in 2012.”
No, Romney sucks!
The two are a perfect match.
For a true poll, just place both pictures on rolls of toilet paper and declare the least usage winner.
Myth is not a good man. He’s a two faced liar with a face for every audience.
NRO’s incessant pimping of Myth is why I cancelled my subscription and seldom visit the site.
No one cares myth is a Mormon except Mormons
If Mitt runs there will be a Mitt Romney Dinner one day.
See Mitt run, see Mitt win primaries, see Conservaties stay home. Again. Hillary wins. Hold on, she has already won, the media says so.
I disagree.
I think his being a Mormon cost him the presidency. -tom
Yeah. Those two are a match, both effectively leftists. Romney is the weaslier, though. He pretends to not be a Democrat even as his primary goal, Amnesty, would return the Democrats to power permanently and totally.
No his being a two-faced liar squish cost him the presidency.
I think Ted, Rand and Maybe Scott will have something to say about all this. :-)
