Talk about vomit? German Banks are charging retail customers........

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-11-04/it-begins-german-bank-charging-negative-interest-its-retail-customers

On November 1st, the first European bank has passed along these negative interest rates to its retail customers.

So if you maintain a balance of more than 500,000 euros at Deutsche Skatbank of Germany, you now have the privilege of paying 0.25% per year… to the bank.

imho that's understandable w/ a commercial bank considering all the check processing/accounting services they furnish. What I'm baffled about is how just over the boarder in Switzerland the gov't bonds have been sold at negative interest for some years now. That has got to be some kind of forced market distortion, like maybe certain businesses are required by law to buy 'em or something.
