I’m with you!
There are presently 2 things out there that are being hyped to the hilt: Global warming and ebola.
There is nothing I can do to improve the situation, so I’m gonna eat cake and forget about them.
Global warming — biggest threat to mankind ever, it’s on a “runaway” pace now, the ONLY thing that will save us is trillions in new taxes
Ebola - no problem, risk is vanishingly small, keep bringing over infected West Africans, there is no need to deploy empirically proven quarantines to contain the outbreak, “we are fully prepared.”
Is it any wonder government can’t be believed on anything?
