I was in the desert alone, lost. As far as the horizon, there was nothing in sight but sand. I felt the sand on my bare feet. Then I saw something extraordinary. In the midst of that barrenness, an immense wooden cross emerged from the earth, rising up with sand spilling from it back to earth.
So begins a dream narrative posted by Bosnian Muslim teenager Emina Emlonic. A dream about Jesus.
It continues: I felt then a spectator in my own dream, and the sight of the cross gave me neither fear nor joy. But I was a curious and began moving, almost floating, towards it, the most magnificent thing Id ever seen or imagined, and as I came closer to the cross, I suddenly saw a man walking toward me: a broad-shouldered, long-striding man, with a dark complexion, long hair, and wearing a white robe.
And just as suddenly I ceased to be a witness to my dream. I was in it, walking toward the man walking toward me. I knew him immediately. He was Jesus. Without knowing why, I fell to my knees. He stood over me and touched my face with his right hand.

Christian baptism of believers (not infants or others incapable of expressing belief) is almost always performed upon a verbal profession of faith. The baptism is simply making that profession public, where we identify with Christ in His death (going under the water), and in His resurrection (being raised out of the water). So baptism itself is a statement of faith visually, and is preceded by a statement of faith verbally. If a Muslim is baptized as a Christian, this is considered apostasy from Islam, and is typically punishable, up to and including death. Anyone willing to risk death to identify with Jesus Christ has a better profession of faith than most modern American Christians. We’ve had it easy here. That is probably changing soon. I am glad for those whom Christ is calling to Himself. I hope and pray I am as faithful as they have been should that ultimate test come here.
Peace,
SR
Thanks for the ping. This is a fascinating article.
I have been hearing about this for a good number of years now. I have also been hearing from field workers that there are substantial numbers of under the radar Christians in many Arab countries who have not made their beliefs public.
It is by no means a majority but they are out there and growing.
Many people in the ME are undergoing what appears to them the end of the world and I think it is having an effect.
> The God of the Bible is SOVEREIGN!
Amen!
Well stated!
We were chosen before the foundation of the world. Nothing can stop the sovereign will of God!
I found this thread researching something on the internet.
It’s a little dated but still relevant and praise God for what’s happening in muslim countries.
I just heard the other day someone mentioning it and so it’s still happening.
We should be praying for them, especially as Ramadan approaches, that those who are genuinely seeking God within that false religious system would find Jesus at that time when fasting and prayer leaves them receptive to God moving in their lives.
