Report: 71 Percent of New Jobs Go to Foreign Born Legal, Illegal Immigrants in NH

A new report by the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) shows that the state with senators who both voted for the “Gang of Eight” immigration bill, which cleared the Senate in June, has 71 percent of its job growth going to foreign-born workers, including legal and illegal immigrants. Sens. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.) and Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.) both voted for Senate Bill 744, which CIS calculated would have roughly doubled the number of new foreign workers allowed into the country and would have given legal status to millions of illegal aliens already in the country had the legislation been passed by the House and become law.

A CIS analysis using data from the U.S. Census Bureau’s Current Population Survey showed that since 2000, 71 percent of the net increase in the number of working-age (16 to 65) people holding a job in New Hampshire has gone to immigrants (legal and illegal), even though the native-born accounted for 65 percent of population growth among the working-age.

Yes, as a matter of fact, it is.

Never have the Forefathers screamed “Third Party” from their graves as loudly as they are today.

Well, I don’t mind Mark Steyn having his job in New Hampshire.

Additional evidence in support of the thesis that America is undergoing a Third World conquest. Put together the FACTS that white Americans are insulted, attacked, discriminated against in education and employment and are becoming a smaller portion of the overall demographic all which are indicative of a conquered people.

As the Gaul said to the Roman who complained when all movable property was being taken(a sack)by the Gauls;"Woe to the conquered!"

Your comment and your tag line seem to be at odds.

As a resident of FL, I have to decide between Charlie Crist and Rick Scott, or some third party candidate. I will never vote for Crist. Scott signed into law a bill that allows illegals to get in-state tuition at our state colleges. Why should I vote for Scott when he puts illegals ahead of citizens?

And that’s the typical reply I get. No one has a thoughtful answer to my genuine question. I’m desperately waiting for someone to explain why Scott gets a pass on this.

Do the others you respond to care as little about what you think as I do?

There is a reason for these numbers and it has to do with skill sets in demand. Many of these employees are east European, Indian, or Iranian, etc., who have technical degrees in CS, MSEE, BSEE, Materials Sciences, etc.

There are not enough technical graduates from the New England area to support the growth industries. Back in the early ‘90’s many of the blue-collar factory jobs in Manchester NH went to young men and women who fled eastern Europe during the Bosnian-Serbian wars. They were skilled and spoke English and had very good education. They were a plus to the companies that employed them as machinists, assemblers, warehouse workers, etc..

Now there is less blue-collar work but much more software, materials development (GT Solar) and optics development (southern NH is the IR imaging center of USA). These technologies requires highly skilled recent graduates as the technology is recently developed, often in a university research center.

So, what I am saying, it makes sense, although, it would indeed be better if more NH kids took STEM courses, graduated, and were committed to remaining employed engineers. It is my experience that engineering is hard work, long hours, and at the outset, relatively low pay as compared to those with MS or PhD degrees or sales management. Many of the recent grads go right into technical sales or something other that using their technical skills. Indians on the other hand see a professional engineering job as the ultimate opportunity to escape their class as defined by Indian society.

“America Has More Trained STEM Graduates than STEM Job Openings

So Why Import Foreign High-Tech Workers?”

“It has become quite clear that America has more high-tech college graduates than needed to fill high-tech jobs now and, importantly, the nation will keep producing many more such graduates than job openings in the future — so why the shrill calls from the industry that there is a shortage?...”

“So Why Import Foreign High-Tech Workers?”

It is price, work ethic, willingness to relocate for free, it is all of those.

Unless you wish to nationalize the labor market then this is what you get. Perhaps eliminating HB1 visas would help but many of these candidates are right out of MIT, Harvard, and so many prestigious schools that I don’t think that would work either.

There is an entire industry of recruiters who try to get US born engineers to take a job at contract conditions (not permanent) and when they do not they get a HB1 exemption. The foreigner applies, works for 50% the going rate, does a reasonable job, and continues on with the company. Most medical device companies do this as they do not require security clearance for employees. That is the growth sector in norther MA and southern NH anyway.

The economy is still crappy but companies are making tons of profit. Would you nationalize labor?

At best, illegal labor should be eliminated through ID, but what about the rest?

"...Obama has made expanding H-1Bs a feature of his re-election campaign, trying to broaden the program that already allows the importation of 65,000 H-1B visa aliens annually. Some people are even pushing the ridiculous notion of stapling a green card to college diplomas, so that foreigners would automatically be allowed to stay and work in our country.

Will that include the 57,000 Chinese undergraduates now in U.S. universities, most of whom were admitted on the basis of fake transcripts and recommendation letters, and are awarded college degrees for which they did not qualify? That's another racket that should be cleaned up.

Dickinson State University in North Dakota awarded degrees to 584 foreign students who did not earn them. On the day of an all-campus student meeting concerning this matter, Education Dean Douglas LaPlante was found dead from an apparently self-inflicted gunshot..."
