Yep.
Guns outlast humans by a long shot.
Guns manufactured in 1910 are still quite useful, but most folks born then are dead.
Eventually the country will be saturated.
And that's a good thing.

True, but we're a long way from that.
What I would recommend as sufficient -
For each adult and responsible child in a family:
- A full-sized battle rifle
- A combat shotgun
- A combat pistol
Plus two spare sets for guests, and ..
- Two hunting rifles of each caliber suitable for local game
- Two hunting shotguns suitable for local game
- Two .22LR rifles
for each family. I'm short of that goal, in a number of areas.

However, even a "good" old gun may lack features of the newer ones. I'm not a gun collector, I'm more of a gun accumulator. What that's turning out to mean is that I have some guns that I bought fifty years ago, that lack features I'd now like, such as built-in rails for accessories like lights and lasers.
