It doesnt pay to quote the Pope to Catholics for several reasons. (1) It was a hoax. If not that then (2) He was mistranslated. (3) You dont know the context. And my favorite one is (4) He wasnt speaking ex cathedra. So you see it just doesnt pay. He can say whatever he wants and it doesnt matter. I guess someone ought to start a *Pope's Gaffe of the Day* thread.
It's a continual thing with this guy.
Funny how I've never seen ANYONE as misunderstood as this guy.
Interesting, isn't it, how the whole world is wrong all the time, but him?

Answer me this --- and you're a thoughtful person, metmom, so give it some thought --- why would a journalist translate the Italian word "Demiurgo" as "divine being"?
As in, "God is not a demiurge - God is a not a divine being"?
