And this is exactly how the left has operated since the 60’s. They harbor a romantic idea of a specific event, or events, that is completely incongruous with facts, and they set out to repeat this leftist romanticized perspective over and over again. They do this in song. They do this in movies. They do this in all of pop culture until they have completely rewritten history into a leftist fable.
Joe McCarthy is such an example. Kent state is another example. Modern history is replete with such examples.
Liberals are wrong almost 100% of the time so they need to fabricate events and then rewrite history so that it will square with their faulty world view. It is the only way they can achieve cognitive consonance.
And they trot out, so-called celebrities, and try to promote the concept that what these celebrities say is in some way relevant. They succeed because so many liberal and low-information voters buy into the theme. And the MSM carries the load.
