Kaci Hickox, a nurse who treated Ebola patients and threatened to sue New Jersey over being quarantined before she was discharged, today threatened to sue Maine if officials there do not lift a 21-day quarantine restriction.
I will go to court to attain my freedom, Hickox told Good Morning America" today via Skype from her hometown of Fort Kent, Maine. I have been completely asymptomatic since Ive been here. I feel absolutely great.
Maine's health commissioner said Tuesday night the state will "pursue legal authority if necessary" to keep her quarantined.
Hickox, 29, arrived at Fort Kent Monday, but is not staying at her home. She was discharged from a New Jersey hospital after spending the weekend quarantined in an outdoor isolation tent at University Hospital in Newark, New Jersey.
The Doctors Without Borders nurse was checked by officials at Newark Liberty International Airport Friday after arriving from treating Ebola patients in Sierra Leone. Hickox says she believes the temperature that officials said prompted her detainment in the hospital isolation tent was incorrect.

New Dem movie, “Bowling for Ebola”.
Put her in enforced quarantine!
Slippery slope.
All the government has to do to detain someone is make the excuse they think someone might be infectious? Every single person they had contact with could be infectious and so can every person they had contact with, and so on.
So, we are all possibly infectious and could be detained?
The entire country could be deemed infectious.
“We’re sorry, ma’am, but your radical, right-wing, constitution-quoting, gun-toting, Bible-thumping, husband might have Ebola. He’s going to have to come with us. In fact, might as well have you get in the truck.”
Even if she does not come down with ebola, I could certainly question whether she should continue to have a nursing license.
I hope she loses big time.
As I’ve said before... a narcissist do-gooder, the worst kind. She’s obviously ALWAYS right.
Fort Kent Maine. Been there. More potatoes than people. She is isolated!
No more should she in "prison" roil,
Let My people go!
Let her step out onto Maine soil,
Let My people go....
If I was the judge I’d put her in quarantine then set a hearing date in 45 days to determine if she should be set free.
Judging from the vast majority of Facebook comments I've seen on her, even the liberals are not rallying behind her as she must have hoped. She is universally being called an arrogant selfish jackass.
There will be no Sandra Fluke fame for her, only disdain. Her dream of making gobsmacked faces while talking about FoxNews with Jon Stewart will forever remain out of reach.
In chains.
Bring out your dead! The Dark Man cometh! Bring out your dead! The Dark Man cometh! Bring out your......
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
She’s refusing to voluntarily quarantine herself at home.
WHY is this a-hole a nurse!
She gives all nurses a bad name.
“Shes refusing to voluntarily quarantine herself at home.”
So? Are you quarantining yourself at home? Are you sure you have not come into contact with someone who is carrying Ebola? Have you proven you don’t have it?
IMHO...If she develops symptoms, we’ll never hear about it if Obola can help it. But if she does get sick she’ll scream bloody murder and blame the Koch Brothers.
Stone her in the street at first sight!
I have not been treating ebola patients in Sierra Leone. If I had been, I would be more than happy to stay at home for 21 days. I'd get some books and cigars and relax.
I have been completely asymptomatic”
Just diagnose her as NUTS and lock her up.
