COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) Democrats appear poised to lose every statewide election in battleground Ohio this fall most of them badly. The prospect is fueling Republican arguments headed into the next presidential election that voter support in a key bellwether state telegraphs national approval for GOP policies.
Republicans are counting on solid wins in the run up to their 2016 presidential nominating convention in Cleveland, the bluest city in a politically purple state. Republican incumbents running for re-election for attorney general, secretary of state, treasurer and auditor all appear headed for victory, as does GOP Gov. John Kasich over Democrat Ed FitzGerald.
"I want to see them re-elected by a substantial margin, because it would send a strong message across America about the way we want to see our leaders govern," said New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, a man with a substantial stake in Ohio's political landscape as chairman of the Republican Governors Association and a potential presidential candidate.

But Christie doesn't seem to want to see Scott Walker win by a substantial margin, or at all. Kasich and his pals are good go-along guys that don't rock any boats. Walker is a conservative that needs to brought down so he doesn't get in the way in 2016.
Oh yeah, typical, stupid Repubs will start slapping one another on the back that finally Amuricans have seen the light. Then they won’t do anything to make anything any better and be stunned when they lose the next time.
It is not they like the GOP as much as they deplore the democrats. I hold no hope the GOP will this time do what they preach. Border will not be secured. There will be no Ebola quarantines and government will get bigger.
If republican do indeed win this election, they better have learned from previous behavior. If they go on another spending spree, 2016 will punish them worse.
The big problem with Ohio is the 4 C’s: Cincinnati, Columbus, Canton and Cleveland with Toledo thrown in. All these are basically large ghettos and all had 100 plus vote counts for Dems in 2012. Don’t count you’re eggs (votes) till they are layed (counted). then factor in the voter fraud, remember Cincinnati is where the woman was convicted of voting 6+ times.
As I have often posted here of late, a Republican Senate victory will prove to the big goverment loving RINOcrats that they don't need the conservative base, on whom they have declared outright WAR. So you can forget about them becoming more conservative anytime soon -- not that we have any more time to wait.
Absolutely! Election fraud is how democRats win the close ones.
If GOP ever gets back in power, here is my minimum list
1. Control the border & no preference to illegals over legals waiting in line.
2. Reduce deficits with cuts in spending.
3. Do not weaken military, expand special forces capabilities,
reduce expensive weapons designed for war with another Superpower. Use those savings to build up counter-terrorism capabilities.
And one more item, tighten election fraud with citizenship proof and picture ID.
Instead, the dems chose the worst possible matchup. Fitzgerald as Cuyahoga County chief spent county money on stuff like a new scoreboard for the Browns. Besides that, there's that scandal where he drove for ten years without a license. "little folk" pay for stuff like that.
My take...the state office 'pubs were given a free ride this time, because the dems made awful choices, not because people feel richer or safer or more served by the government.
“Absolutely! Election fraud is how democRats win the close ones.”
2014 will be a repeat of 2012. already have been reading of republican votes mysteriously being registered as democratic votes in arizona and maryland. when will US election fraud be investigated by the United Nations? probably Boehner will be right behind the UN in calling the 2014 election invalid. don’t hold your breath. dems will not lose the senate is my prediction, as voter fraud again prevails across America. heaven help us.
Say what you want about Kasich but he has really taken care of business here. Employment up, companies moving in for a change. He has done a terrific job.
Just wait until we Ohioans have to start paying for Kasich’s expansion of Medicaid.
You’ll be singing a different tune then.
Yeah, I remember how Ohio was in the bag for Romney in 2012.....
