My colleague, a black African (usually these guys are more conservative) thinks Zero can do no wrong. Literally, it’s like the old commies in the US when they were against the US entering the war in Europe on one day, and the very next day after Hitler invaded the USSR they demanded we enter the war. They even REPAINTED their signs saying “stay out of the war” to “Support the USSR.” For him, if Zero completely reversed policy on anything, it’s just fine because the is Oz the great and powerful.
I knew one of those old commies; he said he (and others) left the movement and never looked back after the non-aggression pact between Hitler & Stalin was made public. He and other malcontents had eaten up all the BS about the war in Spain (1936-39) being a showdown between fascism and “the people”, and the betrayal they felt after seeing Stalin & Hitler in bed together was insurmountable.
