Windmills were largely replaced with superior technologies over the last few centuries.

9. Wind farms are a hideous blight on the landscape. If they weren't symbols of "green energy" the enviro-nazis would file a lawsuit every time someone tried to put one up.

I remember driving up US 97 in Northern Oregon and topping the rise to the Columbia River gorge. There was a big fire on Mount Adams and the infernal wind farms cluttering a once beautiful vista of majestic peaks, a magnificent river canyon and wheat fields and vineyards as far as the eye could see. It was a perfect vision of eco-hell - bad energy policy meets bad forestry policy.

"Wind Turbines may be expensive, unreliable and inefficient, but I sure wish I had one in the back yard. That and a windmill to pump water. Then I would be in pretty tall cotton."

Shouldn't be too hard to do.

I would wager the study that showed most of this was done. Business decisions are made for profit, and with government subsidies, there was profit.

The politicians don't have to answer for profit. The coin of their realm is graft and votes.

Here’s the problem. The biggest source of wind (and hot air) anywhere in the USA can be found in Washington, DC. So why aren’t there any windmills there?

There’s more than enough wind to electrify the entire 57 states and enough hot air left over to make the Global warming threat seem viable. So why aren’t there any windmills there?

The greens will tell you they just misplaced the decimal point by a smidgen and everything is going to be all right as soon as they find it. So why aren’t there any windmills there?

I don’t believe it was Bush’s fault. Any suggestions?

I have traveled extensively across America and observed many wind farms.

There is one constant ......... there are always lots of turbines not turning. the rate varies for the constant from a minimum of 10% to as high as 30 %.

That one spoils the view, just the same. It looks like Bent Willy, only Lilly white.

No they are not. They slice and dice birds very well.

Wind farms are a hideous blight on the landscape. If they weren't symbols of "green energy" the enviro-nazis would file a lawsuit every time someone tried to put one up.

The enviros demonized the logging industry by wailing and gnashing their teeth over the hideous destruction clear cutting caused to precious scenic landscapes. Of course unlike the ghastly windfarm behemoths, clear cuts are generally only visible from the air or from out-of-the way locations. They are not in-your-face FUs to daily commuters.

The beautiful people demand pristine views from their private jets. They couldn't care less about the enviro-generated blight the common man sees on his way to work or running errands.

Blight, decay, dysfunction and death are a-okay if a lefty lunatic causes it. Whirling ivory towers of destruction and desolation.. appropriate symbols for the ego-eco crowd.

I go out to the desert to ride and they have ruined the landscape with ugly noisy POS’s! They are everywhere. The environmentalists wackos complained about offroaders and we have have done 100 times less damage to the deserts than these POS’s! When the offroaders stop riding the desert grows right back. Now these things will be albatrosses of the desert. F’n environmentalist wackos!
