I don’t know. The current DA in San Antonio is all for that crap. And she is just full of numbers about how many were caught, how many convicted, etc, etc. Do the math on those numbers, and it seems pretty profitable.
And about as worthless as most of the other traffic enforcement.
Most of us professional drunks know all the back ways to take home. They are never going to set up check points there because of the lack of traffic (and therefore, profit!).
I see your point. But I do believe that at least some of it is for intimidation. Condition the herd.
