#Ebola Nurse Complaining About Quarantine is Left-Wing Democrat, CDC Employee WITH UPDATE

The nurse currently quarantined in New Jersey is an employee for the Centers for Disease Control and a registered Democrat with a history of left-wing advocacy, Gotnews.com has learned.

Kaci Hickox’s ties to the CDC were not disclosed in a controversial anti-quarantine column she wrote for the Dallas Morning News. The CDC opposes quarantines or travel bans from Ebola infected countries.

(Editor’s note: Kaci Hickox, a nurse with degrees from the University of Texas at Arlington and the Johns Hopkins University, has been caring for Ebola patients while on assignment with Doctors Without Borders in Sierra Leone. Upon her return to the U.S. on Friday, she was placed in quarantine at a New Jersey hospital. She has tested negative in a preliminary test for Ebola, but the hospital says she will remain under mandatory quarantine for 21 days and will be monitored by public health officials. Dr. Seema Yasmin, a Dallas Morning News staff writer, worked with Hickox as a disease detective with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. With Yasmin’s help, Hickox wrote this first-person piece exclusively for the News.)

Yasmin’s teaching and reporting duties have recently expanded to include educating a national and worldwide audience during news coverage of Ebola in Dallas. She has provided expert commentary during interviews with CNN, MSNBC and others, where she has discussed the spread of the disease and how the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention manages such outbreaks.

Yasmin served as a disease detective in the Epidemic Intelligence Service at the CDC in Atlanta. She earned her medical degree from the University of Cambridge and has worked in Botswana and Kenya as well as England.

Her interest in public health and medicine began before she embarked on her undergraduate degree. She worked as a volunteer for an HIV organization focused on the needs of teenagers affected with the disease.

Everybody here should read your link to the Dallas News where this nurse has described some of her experiences. This is the scariest, and most revealing, line:

I recalled my last night at the Ebola management center in Sierra Leone. I was called in at midnight because a 10-year-old girl was having seizures. I coaxed crushed tablets of Tylenol and an anti-seizure medicine into her mouth as her body jolted in the bed.

It was the hardest night of my life. I watched a young girl die in a tent, away from her family.

OMG! She was directly, intimately, and by hand treating a highly infectious patient in the last moments of that patient's life. If there was ever a health care worker who was exposed to Ebola at its most virulent and infectious, she was it. No wonder she's in quarantine, and THANK GOD SHE IS, even if she was somewhat inconvenienced. She seems to think being an Ebola nurse somehow entitles her to put this whole country at risk. What an incredibly reckless fool.
