The last time reform in Russia is now undone. Russia is reverting permanently to standard time.
And the country is reverting back to 11 time zones.
The reason? Year-round summer time was unpopular in the north in the winter which meant an hour more of darkness that no one liked.
It remains to be seen if in fact this is the last time reform adopted by Russia.

Daylight Savings Time is a Capitalist plot, Comrade.

DST was introduced in the Soviet Union in 1981 and has been around for the past few decades.

Daylight Savings Time is an asinine idea.
The only “reform” that is needed is to give it the axe.

Wish we could get rid of daylight savings.

DST was introduced in the Soviet Union in 1981And ten years later, the Soviet Union collapsed. Coincidence, I think not.

Just my opinion, but I could live without the time change, myself. Nature introduces it gradually, not like the bi-annual upheaval. Not the worst thing that could happen, of course, but I don’t prefer it.
Thanks.
To: Gasshog
Thats what I meant was the switching.
Causes nothing but mayhem at work, every time.

DST was introduced in the Soviet Union in 1981 and has been around for the past few decades. Sounds like Putin wants to revert to 1980

Daylight Savings Time is an asinine idea.Agreed. It was enacted during the reign of terror of the 'RAT Woody Wilson, a man who hated America with all of his being. Along with the other "progressive" policies of his regime, DST must be scrapped! Of course, the 16th and 17th Amendment should be eradicated. All of Woody's schemes are contrary to the Founders inspired vision of America.

So they’re turning the clocks back to 1875?
To: goldstategop
Time changes don't bug me all that much; however I know some people who ... (and there are many fine folks hereabouts who...) simply hate DST.
And, that is good enough for moi.
I say junk DST and let popular opinion prevail.
As far as Russian clocks?
My guess is that many just might be clunky, clumsy assemblages that could take some serious effort to re-set; and, that they are best left alone if they are nearly on-time.

I live very close to 90° so when we’re on standard time I can pretty well tell time by the sun. when the sun is due south of me it’s noon by both the clock and ‘God’s time’. Frankly, I could live quite well without Daylight Saving Time.
